Matthew 28:1-15
The First Resurrection Sunday

The resurrection of Jesus Christ fundamentally changed the course of human history, establishing the foundation of Christian faith. The women who first discovered the empty tomb exemplified three essential aspects of faithful discipleship: actively seeking Jesus, demonstrating practical faith through service, and dedicating time to be in His presence. Their devotion was rewarded with the extraordinary privilege of being the first witnesses to the resurrection. Angels served as divine messengers and facilitators, rolling away the stone, dispersing the guards, and proclaiming the miraculous news of Jesus's resurrection. Jesus Himself appeared to His followers in deeply personal encounters, extending grace and brotherhood even to those who had previously abandoned Him. Despite attempts by enemies to suppress and discredit the truth through bribery and deception, the reality of the resurrection remained undeniable. This transformative event continues to offer hope and the promise of eternal life to believers. It demonstrates that physical death is not the end but rather a transition to being present with the Lord. The resurrection challenges followers to examine their own spiritual journey, remove obstacles to their relationship with God, and dedicate themselves to seeking, serving, and staying close to Jesus.
